I am trying this nifty Windows app called “Pokki” and I’m still trying to know the brand name’s etymology.  Anyway, it has “little” applications that open on or “pop out” from your desktop. Its icon and “Pokkies” are placed on the taskbar.

The available “apps” are still few. I installed GMail, Facebook and Tweeki (Twitter Client).

You can read and send an email without opening your browser.

I rarely open Pokkies because I’ll open my browser anyway. But I think it can be helpful when you just need to take a leisurely, quick look while working.
